After attend to the 2016 Tbilisi Grand Prix of Judo in Georgia, Dr Mataruna became professional member (Number #106975) of British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences. BASES is the professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK for biomechanics, strategists, analysis performances, psychologists, physiologists and other professional for sport high performance.
BASES is a Company Limited by Guarantee Registered in Cardiff No. 5385834. The Sport and Exercise Science is the application of scientific principles to the promotion, maintenance and enhancement of sport and exercise related behaviours. The BASES Mission is to deliver excellence in sport and exercise sciences and the Vision is be recognised as the UK’s leading professional body in sport and exercise sciences BASES Strategic Plan is a planning document, detailing BASES’ corporate objectives, performance targets and key indicators of performance for the period 2015-2020.
BASES is concerned with developing and enhancing the professional and ethical standards of its members who are involved in the sport and exercise sciences. The Association’s objectives are:
(a) the promotion of research in sport and exercise sciences
(b) the encouragement of evidence-based practice in sport and exercise sciences
(c) the distribution of knowledge in sport and exercise sciences
(d) the development and maintenance of high professional standards for those involved in sport and exercise sciences
(e) the representation of the interests of sport and exercise sciences nationally and internationally.
Dr Mataruna is in process to receive the Chartered Scientist Status of Bases until the next Olympic Games.
